AUGUST!!!

Wow. School’s already back in, including me starting back in college next week. UGh. I do like school, finally (after a thousand years of it, maybe I’ve developed some strange tolerance to it. Hm.
Anyway, I’ve not been purposely ignoring you, my dear blog. Things have been mocing along at a furious pace toward having a Speaker “to raise awareness” for the Jo. County Homeless situation. There has only been one more meeting of the dYtf, so far, and it was interesting, to say the least. I have no question that this is something that the Forces of GOOD are happy about, b/c the forces of EVIL are going into overdrive trying to STOP anyone from accomplishing anything. (Good thing we’re on the GOOD side.)
So, I wanted to let you know, that on September 9th, there will be 2 sessions of the Speaker coming to addres the good citizens of the area. This lady goes all over the country speaking to homeles kids and making videos and has even written a couple of books on the subject. If you go to you tube you might find her, (Diane Nilan) look under “Hear Us”.
Catch ya L8r.
BTW, remind me to tell ya about the re-opening of the Franklin SK8 Park. It was pretty sweet. And sweaty. Def sweaty. lol

One Day at a Time

Monday is here again! How was your weekend? For most of us, it was warm, but not TOO warm, dry, and tasty. But what about those who weren’t able to just “go home”? Do you ever think about where the kids are tonight? I’ve been thinking about that more and more…I believe in Guardian Angels, do you? I suppose they are kept busy when kids have to leave their homes, and try to fend for themselves.
We’re coming, kiddo. Hang on a little while more…

Blah blah blog

Hey, it’s me, just checking in.  I wanted to write some more extensive stuff today, but the library’s computers are apparently running at about half-speed.  I am determined to keep this blog to a positive vein, so I really don’t have a lot to say, today. ;)

How about some gratitude? Ok, something to be grateful for: everything that is wrong in my life today, will change. Some of it will be obvious in the next 24 hours, some of it will take longer. People say that the things that seemed to be really earth-shaking last week, probably won’t even be a memory after the week has passed. They’re probably right. Some things last longer, and maybe we’re supposed to remember them, because we NEED to do something about them. But in the meantime, I have to talk to people and figure out where to file the events that bother me:

Serenity–to accept the things I cannot change?

Courage–to change the things I CAN?

Wisdom–to know the difference?

I find that when the first two aren’t obvious, I better stick to the last for now. Better to NOT react than to have a “knee-jerk” that I can’t take back or repair later. So, some days I talk less and keep to myself a little more. Because you can’t take back words once they’ve been spoken… But you probably already knew that, huh?

Catch ya later.
